Well Greg, one book I have shows the shipping weight of a 2 door Malibu to be 3,095 lbs. for a six and 3,230 lbs. for an eight. Once you add on a few options you're probably looking at about 3400-3500 lbs.

My 69 coupe with smallblock weighed 3820 with 1/4 tank of fuel and a 240lb driver aboard at Atlanta Dragway's scales. I think you'll find most 69s are with +/- 100lbs of that.

My 69 Malibu shows 3581 on the registation but I think the car was originally a small block. It's now a big block.

my 69SS bench seat, big block 4 spd. no frills has 3400 on the registration. maybe it was a small block at some point?
