I am trying to get my first attempt at a big block build into my 71 SS and was surprised to not find the usual oil sender hole behind the distributor. I was told to use the hole above the oil filter and if needed, the front driver-side hole from the main oil rail. Does this sound reasonable? Where does the stock oil pressure sender mount in a big block? I want to add a guage also, so is the front oil rail plug hole a good place? Seems like it would be in the way. Any suggestions?? Also, where does the stock water temp sender mount? I also want to add a guage and see a plug on the passenger side head between the #4 and #6 plugs(slightly above plugs). Please offer any other suggestions, and this is a 454 BBC.

Thanks,
BC

Oil pressure location. Yep, those 2, or add a Tee.
Water temp location. One on each head.
