I'm still looking for a roof section from an Olds Vista Cruiser or a Buick Sport Wagon to graft onto my '68 Chevelle. I've gotten some great advice from Ken (66 twodoorwagon, THAT is the kind of guy you wish you had as a neighbor), and some leads on roofs, but nothing that panned out yet. Allyears in the mid-west told me he had one in great shape and would look into getting me shipping quotes, but that was almost 6 weeks ago. I've PM'd and e-mailed him till I'm blue in the face and the guy doesn't even bother to respond. I've been searching Craigslist, and E-Bay daily (lost a bid on a POS yesterday). So I'm getting pretty frustrated, since my paint job effort has come to a screeching halt. If anyone out there has a lead on a roof section (it needs to have good glass and all of the original trim) I would GREATLY appreciate it. Id be happy to give someone a $100 finders fee if they can find me a good candidate.
Thanks again,
Rick

Bill, I called him and he has a roof that he said he would sell me for only $300. The problem is that he won't ship it (Too much hassle on his part. He seems a little crotchety on the phone) and he said he's shutting his yard down THIS Thursday. I'm looking into what a one-way rental on a small U-Haul truck would be. My loving wife (who is convinced I'm nuts) has a very good friend who lives in Tucson, so she's willing to fly there and pick up a truck and drive it back here to San Jose. This is all highly speculative at this point, but if it works out would it be possible for you to look over the roof for rust, etc. and possibly store it for a week or so? I'll ask Charlie if he'd hold it somewhere for me as a first option. I'm just fishing for possible options at this point since the time is so tight.

Sure, no problem! Charlie has a health issue going on..........that's why he's doing this crush. Don't get me wrong, he's always crotchity, but it's a little worse than normal now. Let me know what I can do to help.
