I didn't need to push very hard. Can you see anything from the trunk, or do you have that cardboard piece? As I recall, the areas where it's hooked is towards the middle of the seat (up and down) maybe push there and pull up? And when you're pulling up, it's not really straight up, but more along the plane of the seat, more up and back, you know? Ed.

67 Ed has you on the right track. I did have an incident a while back where the normal push/pull force would not budge the seatback. Somehow it had really wedged in there? I ended up taking a large straight blade screwdriver to free up the seat wire from the hook. Never had a problem before or since.

Mine was little easier to get to though since it is a drop top.

Keep at it and you will get it worked loose. Good Luck

Are you talking about the seat bottom or seat back?

Seat bottom, you need to push down then in- it should pop up, and you can slide it out.

Seat Back- You need to remove the two bolts at the bottom- Pull/tip the bottom out a bit, then push straight up- should pop out at the back. There are 2 or 3 clips in the upper back that are holding it on.
