I,m 64 now, heard a bunch of great guitarists in all that time. My top 3 would be , Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and Derek Trucks. May be better ones out there, but i have enjoyed these the most. How bout you?

SRV is number one in my book. Not to get in a pissing match, because I love Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, etc but I think SRV's skills were second to none and he wasn't just a technician. He poured out his soul. Master showman and a solid voice. I was recently watching the documentary about SRV and Double Trouble at Montreux Jazz festival. He was the best.

When SRV was asked who his hero was, he said "his brother".

I had gone to Michigan to visit relatives that weekend and I brought along Texas Flood for the 4-hour drive. The next day I went to work and learned of his death along with Clapton's touring manager. :sad:

The El Macombo? That is a club right here in Toronto that has been around since 1956 I think. It has seen many great acts.
