In the catalogs the 68 steering shaft if listed the by itself. Then the 69-72. Anyone knkw the difference? I picked up a bib block shaft and planned on using it in the 68. But if it doesnt fit, its getting traded. Jim

i think it is the length that the steering column protrudes past the firewall is the difference.
so the steering shaft length is different between the gearbox and the steering column...

I used a BB shaft on my 68 that was from a different year. They are also collapsible, so I don't think a different length would hurt.
