Will the floor shift steering column wire connectors out of a 72 connect to the 70 wire harnesses. I was offered a 72 column for my 70 at a decent price.

Yes. There may be an extra wire in the 72 harness for the door buzzer (I think).....

I have a Elcamino 72 Column-shift auto in my 70 Chevelle. The one plug on the column is rotated 180 degrees when I compared to to the 70 column.

Everything bolted up.

When you go from a standard (non-adjustable) steering column to a tilt, you need to rotate the ignition switch harness in the car 180 degrees in order to plug it into the tilt column ignition switch.

Sometimes the turn signal switch "harmonica" electrical connector from a newer tilt column will not just snap into the harness in an older car. You may need to remove the wires one by one from both harmonica connectors (keep track of what colors go where) and then swap them.
