I owned a '71 Chevelle which has a SS hood. Recently I purchased a complete cowl induction kit. Is there any way or instructions to convert a SS to Cowl induction hood? Its possible to cut the vent on it?? Are there any other modification needed to the hood besides cutting the vent on top?? Thanks
It's much more than just a hole, the entire perimeter is rolled down to almost form a box like structure and affixed to the under support. Unless you have some mad metal working skills you are just going to ruin the hood you have.
You can do ALMOST ANYTHING --- "" IF "" you have enough time and money. I would guess the labor cost and fitting all the parts and pieces in place would be the equal cost of two or three Cowl Ind. hoods. :surprise:
I do agree, If you have the skills and a fat wallet, GO for it !

It's a waste of time to hack up a perfectly good standard SS hood when you can get a ZL2 hood for $300.
