I had a friend stop by the other day and ask me a question that I couldn't answer. We were in the garage and the trunk of the Chevelle was up. He pointed to the three square cutouts on the passenger side of the inside of the trunk and wanted to know what their function was. I made a half-ass guess and told him that it was part of the Astro-ventilation system,but after he left, I got to wondering about it myself. Can anyone out there give an answer to my question? Thanks.

chevelle emblem. My 68's havre the inner holes but no holes in deck skin. 68 does not have a chevelle emblem there. My 69 has same inner holes but also holes in deck skin for the chevelle by chevrolet emblem.

Yep - to access the speed nuts holding the emblem to the deck lid.
