I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, so forgive me if I have chosen the wrong one...

I want to keep the original look of my convertible, but am really missing the music. Any feedback on the aftermarket speakers that can be installed in the dash, such as these ones?: http://www.opgi.com/p/interior-electrical/13161/22/CH26860.html

And what about the replacement kick panels with speakers, such as these?:

Thoughts/direction is much appreciated...
thx

I'm assuming that some other folks have given this set up a shot. Hopefully we'll hear from them...

PS Worth mentioning that I have looked up a number of threads pertaining to the kick plate speakers, but most of them are a few years old and I'm guessing/hoping that the speaker quality has likely improved?...

Is it numbers matching, low milage, original door panels..... or did you just buy them from PUI?? I don't know why no one wants to cut repro door panels?? You can paint you speaker grills to match the panels and it looks great. Just my opinion.

This solution is not for everyone ... but it worked out great for me.
I ended up using the Custom Autosound dual voice coil speaker in the dash. For the back, I mounted two 6x9 speakers in speaker boxes that sit on the back seat. I used banana plugs on the speaker wires for quick disconnect if I need to remove the speakers. I also used 1" webbing and fastex side release buckles to secure the speakers in place.

It looks a little whiskey tango...but sounds awesome and completely dissapears if I want it to.
