Found my old rear speaker (wires cut off) and thinking of installing it while I have the interior and shelf torn apart. What size wire do I use? The old connections looked pretty thin like 16-18 gauge?

Others may have some better suggestions but I'd head to Home Depot for some decent "lamp cord wire" and use that.

Depends on how "crazy" you're gonna get with amplification. If you're going stock or 25W and under output power, 16 - 18 ga. "zip cord" is fine. Anything higher output step up a guage number or two until you get into the 200+ watt range.
