Installing the factory style "tar paper" insulation, and HATING it!!

I'd recommend if anyone else is planning on doing this-go with the dynomat / or dynomat-like stuff. I've got hot tar burns all over my hands, and am only partway finished after 5 hours work. What a pain in the a$$!

Sid, are you talking about those carpet underlays that are put out by Snake Oyl? (Clean your hands first before typing your response)

They came with the kit I bought about 4 years ago from Austley's at the Carlisle PA show (before I discovered G.U.!)
Carpet seems quality made, but MAN that sound deadener is mean stuff!

My son used the Dynamat Extreme (silver colored) in his truck and it is some GOOD stuff. It was also fairly easy to install. He used a small roller like the ones used for fiberglass work to get in corners and inside curves.
