This is a long shot but what the heck.

I have an old Smiths tach. I've had it for years - still in the original box. I want to use it in my 66 Beaumont (it'll be period correeect anyway), but it seems I've lost the wiring diagram
. and there are only about 8 wires....

Any chance someone out there have one hanging around the shop?

I have a diagram from a newer "programmable" tach, but it's not right.

Thanks muchly! Wes

Wes,
Do a search on altavista using "smiths tachometer" as the search word. YOu will find what you need. Here is just one of the "hits": http://www.corpdemo.com/tiger/techtips/motach.html

Thanks Bill. I had done a search on Yahoo and got a ton of stuff on Jag's and Cobras. Even found one wiring diagram for a programmable tach (which also had 8 wires - but not the same). The site you posted above looks great. I'll follow up with AltaVista.

To Coppertop.
Yeah - that's 8 wires. I was kind of expecting maybe four. When I counted 8 I figured I'd better ask.....
