I'm no expert, but are those heads a little big for the street?

You have heads that are looking for about .600 lift and your cam is for a set of 170cc runner Vortecs. I'd either get a bigger bore block, smaller heads or a honker cam and race it.

i'm definitely no expert but those heads seem awfully big for your cam,(especially if you drive it on the street often),i think you should either step up considerably in cam size or get a set of heads that arent big, heavy breathers, your combo seems a little mismatched.if you want to take it to the max, then get some .373,.410,or.456 gears,a bigger cam and about 3500 stall.what kind of intake do you have?i'm thinking those 230cc heads would like a single plane, maybe even a Super Victor if you go really big on cam and stall converter, but you will definitely not like its street manners.i'm sure others will chime in,these are very helpful friends here.

Yeah...spin the heck out of it, i have a cam at home that wanted to go FOREVER in my 350. Howard 302/310, 268/[email protected] .562/.570 lift on a 108. That might suit your needs. But id say you need at least 11.5 maybe 12:1 compression to make it work. I rant it with 11.1:1 on 89 octane with no problems. With the compression and cam be looking for 8,000+RPM shifts and its going ot be a slug until 4,000. Your converter would also need to have quite the stall, this would not be a street cruiser unless you hadd a stick shift

Now to be reasonable id drop back to a 200cc head and run what you have....

Just look at my sig, I would'nt recomend those heads on the street unless you don't mind a really loose converter. You do need a lot of cam and spin that thing to at least 7500.
