I need to purchase a set a headers for a 64 with a small block and automatic. Is there a set of headers that are ceramic coated for about 250 to 300 bucks? I was looking at Jegs and they have there header that is about 220 bucks. Any thought on this???

I bought the Flow Techs for out el Camino, and they have surface rust just from the moisture in the air. No winter use and never left outside. Perhaps if you get ceramic coating done by a coating company you get a good job. Perhaps it is no better that the Aluma-coat that they used to put on headers. It rusted off too after a while. I've had far better luck with plain old high heat barbecue paint. The Chevelle has the same headers that were on it when I bought the car in 1997. That's good enough for me.

look closely at the pics of the Summit and Dynomax headers.. they are the very same part... anyone that buys the Dynomax part over the Summit part has more money than brains..
and speaking of that, i've had two sets of those very same headers- the first, i bought brand new, and the coating started to literally fall off in large pieces after 2 years. i got a second set after i swapped a big block in a 67 Chevelle for a guy, and put those on my Monte.. same thing- after 2 years, the coating started falling off. there was about 3 years between the dates of purchase on the sets, so it's not like there was something screwed up for a short period of time at the coating factory or something like that.
sure, they're cheap and they fit nice, but Jet Hot must not do a very thorough prep job when they coat them.
