Front end is 100% new I mean eveyrthing

Rag joint seems tight.
If I look at the arm coming out of the steering box seems like the lag is there
Was tight as a drum when I started driving it within 50-60 mi seem to have gotten some play in ther.e

Tried to do the nut/setscrew deal on the box but no change didnt want to ruin it. was awhile back so cant remember which way or how far wasnt much though.

How tight is the big nut on the steering arm coming off the bottom of there supposed to be also?

I didnt pull the top cover off with the setscrew felt like something would come up with it????? Was hoping I could and an answer be obvious in front of me. Dont want to pull it out and wait for it. Not a complaint on the box itself works fine just doesnt seem normal.

with the engine running there should be movement of the Pittman arm with any rotation of the rag joint. No slop allowed. I'd talk to Lee before doing anything more.

He wants me to drop it off and pay full rebuild. Could be weeks or more.
Damn things new as it is. I dont know why it would be tight then get slop after such a short period. Hate to toss away another 300

Sorry...that's some BS right there...I would tell him to stuff it and get a rebuilt Jeep Grand Cherokee box...

I had Lee rebuild the JGC box for my '65 Chevelle and I've never had any problems with it. I had an unrelated problem that I thought was the steering box and I shipped it back to Lee. It turns out there was nothing wrong with Lee's box but he had bench tested it and replaced a seal for me. Mr. Lee then called me on the phone to explain he could find nothing wrong. All I had to pay was shipping. I later determined my problem was unrelated to the box. I felt so bad for putting Mr. Lee through the episode that the next time I drove through Sun Valley I stopped by with a food gift for the Lee's. When I put my hydroboost unit in I called Mr. Lee with some questions about the pump he had built and he gave me all the time and information I needed. Both Mr. Lee and his wife have been straight up and honest with me and I'd not hesitate to use them again.

How about driving by his shop, and see if they see anything else before removing it... Sun Valley should be pretty close to where you live, right?

Have another set of eyes look over the rest of the linakge and the box?

Im gonna take it to a good one man front end shop and have him take a peek at it. Could be something Im not aware of and want the car safe.

Seems straightforward though, turn wheel and watch for lag of movement??

no im not paying 300 to have it done over. He seemed pretty gruff about it over the phone. basically like drop it off wait or FO
Wasnt that way when I got it built lol.
Is there grease in there that could dry up? It did sit for many yrs before putting the car together after he built it. Not blaming just wanting to find the solution

Id hope there was a way I could pop the cover off and have a look without boogerign things up but havent done it before.
