Haven't posted anything here in awhile, But last night was the most amazing show I've seen! Last week, (yeah, Mothers' Day weekend!) my 3 kids, with the help of my wonderful wife, gave me an early Fathers' Day present, 2 tickets for my wife and me to see Paul McCartney at the Amway Center in Orlando for last nights 1st show, kicking off his U.S tour!!!:hurray: Just wanted to share with you guys, for any McCartney fans, if you get a chance to score tickets in your area, check it out. He's going to be 72 years young in a couple of weeks, and the guy was hopping around like he did 50 years ago! ( Well, maybe 30 years ago, but STILL!!!) He performed for 2 1/2 hours, including 2 encores! He performed a little of everything from his Beatle years to Wings and his solo stuff, with tributes to John Lennon and George Harrison, just blew us away!!! Best concert I've been to sober. I'm at the ripe old age of 52 and there were people from teens to their 80's (no joke!) We saw 1 woman who made it up to the 'nosebleed' section with an oxygen tank strapped to her back and she wasn't a day under 70! Never got to see the Beatles live, but oh man, this was as close as you can get today! If any of you happen to be fans of Sir Paul, add his show to your 'bucket list', you won't be disappointed.

I worked security at his concert in the early 90s... I was impressed with his concert, songs and the mix of ages in the crowd! He's coming back to winnipeg during his latest tour, in September... Maybe worth seeing as a spectator...

I was at that concert. We took a bus tour from Saskatoon. It was probably the best concert I've seen. Well worth the 9 hour bus ride.

Glad to hear he's still going strong.

It was a gift, he may not know.

Thanks for sharing Mason. I never saw the Beatles, but my dad bought his ten year old son a bass guitar in 1971, adn it was Sir Paul's bassline in Come Together that sold me.

I love it when a bassist says Paul isnt that good of a bass player. Boors they are.

I'm almost afraid to ask. How much are the tickets?
Unfortunately, I do know the price, it's printed on the ticket, with taxes and all they were $108.24 each. Way up on the top row, nosebleed section, . And I got to admit that I was a little upset about the price (just not comfortable with my kids spending money on ME) but we could see him just fine on one of the 'big screens' and the sound quality was incredible! (John and George would have been proud!) When you weigh in the fact that it was 2 1/2 hours of just Sir Paul (there was no opening act), IMO it was definitely worth every penny.

I know what you mean Gene, because he uses a pick in concert. As a bassist, I'm sure you know the blisters you get after playing "properly" after a few hours. Now try singing and playing one of his bass licks and THEN tell me how he isn't "that good".:noway: By the way, looks like I picked up the guitar around the same time you got your bass...:beers:
