Is it ok to have your battery, msd 6a box red wire and your voltage reg wire going to your starter stud, and have your small ignition wire to your starter solinoid terminal.I have a new CRV mini starter. It was hooked up like this with the old tci mini starter and worked, but it was worn out.I went to hook this new cvr the same way and it got my battery very hot and no start.Whats up did i just get a short some where, maybe a wire is hitting something.
i got it started the same way,but i put a ground strap on engine block to frame maybe that was it or a wire was hitting another the first time.No shims on the starter.
