There are no shoulder belts on this '71 Chevelle I'm in the process of buying.
Evidently a new headliner was installed over the shoulder mounting points and the shoulder belts removed. Only the lap belts remain.
Does anyone have a photo of the shoulder belt mounting point without a headliner installed so I can see what it looks like?
Or possibly offer some help on how and where the shoulder belt was mounted (how many bolts, etc) to help me locate them through the headliner.
I'd like to install one of the newer 3-point belt systems, but I still need to locate the roof attach points.
Thanks,
Tom

these are from my 68 Chevelle, should be about the same? with and without headliner. The bottom pic if you look to the left you can see two 5/16 holes about 3in. apart with a 1/2in. vertical slotted hole in the middle where the belt bracket mounts.

Your welcome, have you heard any reviews good or bad on the new 3 point belts?

Yes, lots of good reviews on 3-point belts if you search the forum. Seems like lots of folks are happy with Morris Classic. Direct bolt-in replacement.
Fumbling with the factory lap belt and a shoulder belt separately is no fun; I've had that in the past. And it creates lots of clutter managing multiple belts, buckles, etc. This setup cleans it up nicely. Of course you have to be ok with the look of a permanent floor-to-ceiling belt appearing in the side view of your car. Shoulder belts used to be an afterthought back in the day, but in this day and age, I'll trade the look for the safety. And they really don't look too bad imho.
