My friend that doesn't own a computer has been trying to find out what brand shorty header and part number will work without modifications on a 1967 Chevelle SS 396 with side pipes? He's also wanting to install cut-outs on his car. He's on his 3rd set of headers that he's had to return because they don't fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why are the headers not fitting? Are they 67 A body specific headers? Or is he buying random shorty big block headers?

He was buy shorty headers that were specific to 67 Chevelle BBC. He even dropped down to smaller tubes on the headers.

my neighbor just went thru this.the first set he got he had to beat one tube i swear dang near halfway shut and about 3 inches long,man was he pissed.he found a different pair and ordered them and they fit awesome asked him who made those.they were patriots made or sold by hedman.nice looking headers,i'm tempted to go for a set on my 66.

Thank you for your replys. My friend has decided to stay with his stock exhaust because he has been talking to other Chevrolet owners that have told him they saw no difference in power going to shorty headers over their stock manifolds.
