Get all the seam sealer out of it, this will take a while to find it all. Plus all around the cowl you should find some.

What could happen, the blaster, if he uses sand might try and blast the seam sealer out, and if he does it will thin the metal around it real quick and he might even blow a hole through it.

Make sure your blaster knows what he's doing, you can ruin panels pretty easy by warping them.

On the epoxy, make sure you know whats going over the epoxy, in other words any filler, primer or paint, make sure its all compatible.

Get all the technical sheets on everything your using, and wether your doing it or a body shop, work all the details out ahead of time.

All this takes time, but it has to be done to get it right.

My suggestion is DON'T have it "sandblasted". Sand blasting can, and often does RUIN a car. It will DESTROY panels if done incorrectly. And YES even "Pros" RUIN cars.

There are many products you can "blast" a car with, sand is old school and honestly will RUIN a car, warping the panels beyond repair. So be VERY, VERY causious about who you drop your car off with.

Sandblasting might be old school but theres some old school guys out there that can get it done.

Its good to warn him about it, but one thing about sand once its sandblasted and you blow the dust off of it, epoxy primer will stick to it like its welded.

I would be cautious about blasting
hoods
deck lids
fenders
roofs
quarter panels
doors

But blasting the floors inside and out, inside and outside the trunk and the cowl, sand is as good as it gets. Also all of the chassis, control arms, rear end etc.

There is a place in Spring that does media blasting. He will also epoxy prime it also. His name is Billy. I have used him many times. Hopefully he is still in business.

EnviroClean, 4405 Spring Cypress, Bldg D, Spring, TX, 281-350-0077

Now for sandblasting there is Wolfe sandblasting in LaMarque.
