I need to ship a complete SBC motor half way across the country. I can palletize it and load it with a forklift on my end. Anybody have any suggestions on who I should use? Also..what does a SBC weight with carb and intake. (Iron heads, Al intake)

try FedEx Freight. It's a separate deal from regular FedEx. I just shipped a 300# spool of cable and a 225# winch on two separate pallets from Dauphin Island to Houston and they charged us $135

I shipped a 327 (no intake or carb) from PA to AZ and the shipping company said it 500 pounds, that seemed a little heavy to me. The receiver setup the manifest and described it as "used machine parts" to get the shipping costs down. I think the shipping company was roadway for the sb, you could also try old dominion, I shipped a 454 from PA to CA using them.

I had a 427 shipped from Illinois to South Carolina using Overnite for $200. The rates are cheaper if you take it to the terminal and have the person you are shipping it to pick it up at the terminal.
