My TH400 (LS7 454 engine) is back and running after sitting idle for about 4 years. Iniatally, would not shift out of low using vacuum source of right side of Holley 750. Switched to big tube out the back of carb, but now it shifts really late if at all. Should I tee-off of the main vacuum source that supplies the master cylinder from the intake manifold or . . . ? What is the proper source for TH400 vacuum line? Thanks

I had mine on both the "back of the carbbase" and the "Intake runner" ports. NO difference, either street or race.

Maybe a new modulator valve would help things out?

-I also ran a bigger tube down to the modualtor, no real difference there either.
Are you sure the vacuum tube isn't so old that it is being "sucked closed" or maybe has a crack/leak?
