I bought a deluxe stainless seat (lap)belt for my '70. The buckle is very hard to adjust on the belt. What can I do to fix this and make it easier before I end up breaking something? Thanks a lot.

I usually disassemble the buckles (standard plastic covered) and clean with soap and water. It's amazing the crud in there.
Dry them off, lube with white grease. The belts I just soak in a cleaner/degreaser.

Can you take the buckles apart?

I don't know if I can. It's one of those deluxe stainless belts so Im not sure how to do it. There's gotta be a way to do it though without damaging it, I'd think.
