I tried to "ask seller a question" to find out if I could look at the car and it took me directly to an e-mail - SCAM - Nice car though. Who ever owns it.

You guys want to be amazed??
go into ebay motors and type this in for a search: $9500

If you don't see the fake listings try again in a little bit.
These are being relisted as fast as ebay removes them.
under a different user name and ebay item number every time.

or click this link. there is a lot of scamming going on!!

I was getting annoyed by this just the other night, I was looking at a chevelle and in the description the guy says "my ebay e-mail isn't working, so email me at ____" "buy it now $3500", I'm thinking who the heck is dumb enough to fall for this crap, but you know there are probably still people emailing this jerk as fast as they can

You could round up all those "buy it now $9500" ads and delete them, and not get one ligit auction in the process.

Anyone see the recent trend of posting a pornographic thumnail with the bogus auction? Ebay is going to pot faster than anyone can save it.

yes, the same bogus $9500 BIN auctions were being removed, and the hackers were replacing them with the porn as you mentioned.
then those would get removed and the fake auctions were being relisted.
just as fast as they were being removed.

Funny he/she is not using the Buy It Now option to try to snag someone into actually sending a payment via PayPal.
The scammer can't use "Buy It Now" because he is hijacking user names. That is why when you click anywhere on the auction it opens an email window. Otherwise you would be able to contact the seller through the user ID and you would know it was a scam. These type of people are trying to hook new ebay users that are not familiar with ebay and want them to give up vital information.
They may also be the people that put a picture of a topless woman on their auction in the listing pages. When you click on the auction to view it a sign in window pops up. If you have an address bar on your browser you will see that it is NOT ebay. If you sign in you just gave them your ID and password.

With all the scamming going on with ebay and pay pal I'm going back to the 'old fashioned way" the swap meets. A long day at a swap meet kicks the crap out of me but my cash does'nt pass hands without physically seeing the part or car!

I know a lot of folks don't think ebay does anything but I reported about 5 or 6 of this guys ads and within 30 minutes they were removed.
I am looking for a boat and found the same situation. Same guy selling 5 or 6 boats for the exact same price and well under market. reported them and within 30 minutes (late saturday night) they were removed. Ebay will remove OBVIOUS fraud but won't for anything on the fringe.

Ebay has been the big auction site for so many years, its time for a big corperation or a an individual with enough money to start up an auction site to compete against them. It is really starting to get old with this BS.
