I am helping a friend with a 65 283 he plans on installing in a Jeep. He would like to have a GOOD chrome timing cover and a one piece oil pan gasket. Could anyone suggest a good non off shore chrome timing cover that would be compatible with a 65 283 and I hope a thin front seal one piece gasket. Foe some reason it seems that units like GMPP Pn# 141-215 starts at 1969 and up, that is about the time 350's hit the street, don't know if that is the connection or not. Thanks for any suggestions.

I would say all chrome timing covers are coming from China today including the 141-215,it may have a GMPP Pn# but it's made in China by Proform. It's not bad quality I have one on my El Camino. It should fit your 283.
