You got a USB cable with it, correct? Plug it into a USB port and it should come up as another drive asking you what you want to do - play with Windows Media Player, etc.

Do that and post what happens. :)

I have another model - the Sansa Clip+, so I'm not familiar with yours, although there are similarities. Check out the SanDisk forums:

and try what it says in post # 6. That is for Windows XP; I don't know what you're running. But I had problems with my PC recognizing my player when I got it and these Auto Detect/MTP/MSC settings were the answer.

i think i have windows 7-when i open up the windows media player, i see the mp3 on the left side, and shows the int/ext memory, but when i click on music, under the ext it says
there is nothing there-i should have known not to buy anything like this, lol
man, i dont know how people learn this computer related stuff, i can rebuild an automatic, engine, rear, paint, etc, but when it comes to computer stuff, i have to find a 10 year old to help me, lol

Did you try what I suggested in post #6 above? Unplug the player from the computer first and then try this:

Go to Settings/System Settings/Scroll down to USB Mode. Mine was set to Auto Detect by default but my computer was still detecting it as an MTP device instead of MSC. By clicking on MSC, the XP computer recognized the player automatically, no problem.
Or find that 10-year-old. ;)

Computers are just like anything else, if you want to get good it takes time, practice & patience. when i got my first computer all knew was point and click, then i started upgrading components, software and things. now i can pretty much build them.

for your MP3 player after you plug it in, click on "my computer" you should see it there, under "devices with removable storage". if it is there you can click on it and it will open up a folder and the song files should be shown, click on a song file and it should play with the appropriate media player.
