Here's a tip I recently (yesterday) learned when working with metal. Just because you are wearing safety glasses that may not be enough. Saturday night I was grinding smooth the welds on my floors, protecting my eyes with glasses. When finished I went in the house and proceeded to take off the sweatshirt I was wearing so as not to really make the wife mad and get her sofa dirty. As I was taking off the sweatshirt a pile of metal bits that had accumulated right below my neck fell off and went right across my face. I thought I was ok, didn't feel anything hit my eyes. I woke up yesterday morning and immedietely knew it was time to go to the ER. I had to get 6 bits of metal removed from my left eye yesterday, and let me tell you, it was painful.
So lesson learned? Brush yourself off before removing clothing over your head!!
