routing battery cable

I'm using 2 ga bat cable from a trunk mounted battery. Thinking of upgrading to 0 or 1/0 welding cable.

Want thoughts on routing cable through frame as opposed to along frame.

Guess none of the racer types are around. Might want to get involved in a thread running on the Camaro site involving trunk mounted batteries.
