I tried searching for this problem on TC do no avail so here it goes: I just put on new weatherstrip/windowfelts for the chevelle and had a question regarding the roofrails themselves. There is a steel "hook" that is riveted on the roofrail about where the rear door window and front of the quarter window meet at. The question is: Does the weatherstrip go inside of this hook or rest on the outside of this hook? To me it seams that when I put the weatherstrip on the inside of the hook that it scrunches up the weatherstrip and would provide an area for future air/water leakage. Any help is appreciated.

It goes inside the hook. I'm not exactly sure what it's for but I know that it helps your window go up all the way and also supports the glass when you slam the door.
