Sean, I have a good friend of mine that runs in the IHRA Pro-Stock bunch. He was there for the world finals. He is Elijah Morton from Jacksonville, NC. I have been there with him in the past, but for the Spring Nationals. Fun time.

I saw him run. I am military, and we were providing security for the event. my buddy was watching the gate to the line (to keep undesireables like me out) so we got in for the good stuff. only got kicked out one time. but we were back for the top fuelers. we kinda stood out among the teams but it was all good.

I volunteered for the April national drags at Rockingham. I'll never forget one of our TSgt's (now retired) told me to make sure I had my ear plugs in when the top fuels were running. I took his advice and I'm glad I did.

I was pulling security next to the grandstands that were reserved. I saw them line up and then they launched. I swear I felt every internal organ in my body being jarred as both cars passed before my eyes. I can only imagine that you'd be deaf for a few days had you not had your plugs in.

I wanted to do it again this year.....guess I missed it as I didn't get back from Kuwait until the 25th of October. Did Sgt Reilly host it this time around?

I wasn't working, so i don't know who ran the security deal. but yeah, a bit louder up close like that. still hurt even with the ear plugs.

69boo307, how did you like "the rock" looks to be a pretty well prepped track most of the times i have been there. mebbe i will get the chance to take a couple passes once i get my car done.
