Many of you may have known him as "inquisitive gearhead" here on the forum. Harold "was" Superflow for a long time. He co-authored the book Engine Airflow and was probably one of the most contributing minds to the knowledge and understanding of engine airflow that this industry ever had. I came to know Harold when he offered to help me with the calibration process on a Superflow 600 flow bench. We drew up a friendship over conversations on other topics like our spiritual and religious beliefs, politics and firearms where we had a lot in common. I would consider him a friend and am saddened by the news of his passing. This industry and the world, IMO, lost one of it's best. A gentleman, a Christian, a Patriot and a truly honorable man.
RIP HB2.

Man, Mark just had lunch with him a few weeks ago, and I was exchanging emails with him for a QJet build.

RIP Harold

Did you read that hot rod article?
I like learning new equations in order to make sense of things. Bettes has an equation in the article for rpm for peak power . There is an example using that formula in the article but I'm lost on what the givens are versus what the variables are . I've attached that part of the article here. Maybe you get it . I dont

Still a little bit in shock, I just spoke with him a not much more than a month ago. His hearing wasn't so great but he was still sharp.

I had the pleasure of meeting Harold over lunch when I visited Mark. What Scott said is entirely true, what a gentleman! And then the care he took to help me rebuild a Qjet was over the top. A genius communicating with an idiot, but so graciously.

Harold reminds me of what we lose when we lose folks of his generation.

RIP Mr Bettes.

I was with Harold 8 hrs before he died, no sign of any problems. RIP
Exactly why we let friends and family know how much we appreciate them each time we have dialogue. Life is fragile.
RIP Harold Bettis, another great in the engine world. He left a legacy for sure.
