On the fusebox, is there a way to replace the resistance wire (to the coil)? Mine burned up a few years back, and now I would like to clean up my 'temporary fix' for this. Can I somehow just replace the whole wire starting at the fusebox or is this something I'll just have to splice in?

The resistor wire doesn't go all the way to the fuseblock. It is crimped into a pin on the outside bulkhead connector. You just need to remove the connector under the hood.
Before you pull things apart you might try and find a resistor wire first. I don't know of a solid source. Maybe M & H or FactoryFit will sell you some. On my 64 I just went ahead and bought the engine harness from M & H and replaced it. Starter wires were pretty bad anyway.

Thanks for the info John. I no longer use the resistor wire as I use a MSD 6AL. I would like to wire the MSD using the same pin as the resistor wire uses. You're info was just what I was looking for.
