If you are looking for something a little different in the wheel department you might want to check out these new aluminum SS wheels!

Constructed of aluminum these brand new retro 15 x 7 Super Sport wheels will give your muscle car a more modern look while keeping the old school styling! These awesome new wheels are black powder coated on the inside and feature machined lips so trim rings are not required.

This set includes new SS center caps and retainers. Lug nuts sold separately.

They are also quite a bit less expensive than the stock SS wheels.

Check them out here:

Could you post a picture of the real item? It's hard to tell what they look like based upon the catalog. I would be interested.

Maybe just a higher resolution picture so you can see the quality of the rim and coatings. Either the light or background makes the catalog picture look like an animation to me. Not trying to be critical of your work but give you some honest feedback. If you're showing a EDP coated fender it's a little different than an aluminum wheel. Thanks.

Alan here is a link to the individual wheel which is larger. We can also email you a much higher resolution version if you'd like.

We have to keep the images on the web around 72 ppi because of the size but we always keep a high resolution copy from right out of the camera just in case so we can send you that one.

No offense taken! I didn't take the photo so no worries! ;)

I have to say though that the photo is pretty spot on to what the actual rim looks like. I had the rim in our office for a few days so I got a chance to look at it. I'm not sure how we could do the photo differently but if that's no good we can certainly try!

Any chance you'll be adding the 71 and up Chevelle/El Camino SS wheel later on ?

Yeah, the '71-72 wheels are normally either the later model ones or bent. I bought a set of the 17" ones from YO that were nice for my El Camino. They're just too custom for my taste as I'm more of a purist. That's why I wanted to see better pictures.

Paul, or whoever is responding from Ground Up, I would like to see a full res color picture. If you could send it to my personal email by clicking on my profile and using that I would appreciate it. Unless you object, I will also post it for this thread. It's the least I can do. ;)

Not a problem. Full res is like 35 MB but I will make sure we send you a much bigger one than what is on the web! ;)

I am going to send you the bigger res of the individual one pictured above. You'll be able to make it much bigger to see more detail.

Dave who takes the photos is out sick today so if that doesn't work I will have him get something tomorrow. However I don't know if we'll be able to get a better one. We have a DSLR camera and lighting that we use to take our product photographs so not sure what more we can do on that one but we'll try! :/

Please feel free to post. That would be great!

Thanks for the picture Paul. I cropped some of the background and reduced it about half to post here.

I have a few questions:
Is the center steel or aluminum?
Is the non-black area of the center, natural or coated?
Does the finish on the non-black center appear like the rim part? I honestly can't tell.

From what I can tell, they look like a really nice part that's reasonably priced. The only other thing I would want to know is if they are true and well balanced:confused:, which I don't expect Paul to be able to answer.

How does the weight compare to the original steel wheels? And do these comply with the applicable SAE standards?

I ordered a couple things yesterday from GU and almost ordered these wheels but not sure if I want the steel or these.

Okay here are the answers that he came up with:

"The center is aluminum.
The silver parts are clear coated.
The black part is powder coated.
They are true and as balanced as can be. All wheel and tire combinations require balancing."
