I may end up restoring my father 67 chevelle convertible. I am currently restoring a 68 camaro and I have found two good suppliers for 1st generation camaro parts.

What would be the best supplier of chevelle parts? Is there a place that specializes in early model chevelle parts?

Not sure where you are but I never miss a chance to recommend James Hinshaw @ Hinshaws Chevelle he knows his 66/67 's very well , knows which repo parts are good quality and which are not FWIW

If your truly doing a resto then very important to deal with someone who knows your model of car well and aso availalble for to take your call on an installation issue or "is it correct " question does not hurt if he attends Chevelle events .Hinshaws is a strong sponsor of ACES regional events ...... yes price is important but not the only thing .....FWIW

Thanks for the information. I am not 100% sure what I am going to do. My father passed away recently and I let my step mother know I would like to restore it. She also would like to restore it, but I don't think she realizes the amount of money it takes just for parts and she would have to pay labor also. The car needs a lot of work, but it is a 396 SS convertible in restorable condition. I believe dad said it had the dome pistons (or something that indicated that it was the higher horsepower 396). I am going to run the numbers on everything when I visit this spring. Right now I am just trying to get a feel for the cost of parts compared to Camaros.

You will have to excuse my lack of Chevelle knowledge, I have been in 68 Camaro world for 2 years now. Should be done this summer though and then maybe I will start working on the next project. :)

Here is a link to my Camaro project. Should be back on all 4s this weekend.
