I put the repro in my 71 and I have the original in my 68. The original is more quality and well worth the cash if you can find one in good condition. The repro fit ok, but I had trouble fitting the console lid. I had to shim the hinge to get it to open at all. Everything else fit fairly well, but there's nothing the original.
Repop VS OEM Console Quality
I have been watching guys get incredible money for 68-72 chevelle consoles on ebay. Most of these would need more money put into them before I would let it in my car. The ones that are in great shape command big bucks. If you buy repop kit and various other items needed you really wouldnt have much more in it than these guys are paying. I wonder why they drop the bucks on ebay? I understand and would like OEM if I could but. Is the quality on the repops that bad? Or is there another reason I am unaware of?
