Hey guys:

Thanks for your response to my earlier post “Replacing wiring harness”. Sorry about the extra post however, for some reason I can’t reply to my first post.

The car is a 1970 SS Clone. I presently have an SS dash with idiot lights and will be going to a SS dash with round gauges.

The previous owner did the original conversion however, none of the idiot lights work, the Speedo and clock lights don't work and the turn signal lights won't illuminate or flash. I won’t know if everything is correctly connected or connected at all until I remove the dash this weekend.

With the exception of a manual choke pull lever installed and the radio opening cut to accommodate the CD player, the dash is in excellent condition.

I was in hopes someone that has replaced a dash harness could tell me if the replacement harnesses wires are marked to indicate which component they connect to, if the replacement harnesses come with installation instructions, or where I can get a diagram that shows the proper color coding for the connections. From what I can tell by looking at the fuse block it looks like everything coming out of the fuse block leads to a connector for the mid harness and engine harness. I think the connections to the dash components will be the hastle.

Thanks again
Brad Howard

Do you have a wiring diagram or a vehicle assembly manual? If not you can buy a diagram from most parts suppliers for like $6. I recently saw a post here that had a link that had wiring diagrams on it...can someone help us out with that link? Anyway, wiring info is easily available, and as someone said, M&H is just plug & play. They likely have the diagram you need. Good luck, I'm looking to tackle that chore in my Camaro soon (already have the harnesses).

If you bought the harness from M&H the color codes on the wires are the same. Tag all of your old connectors then match and tag your new harness. Some of your connectore (plugs) will only plug into a certian place.
