I have a 66 with muncie 4spd and console. I have heard several people mention that the stock shifter is really messy. I think mine is the stock shifter, (straight round shape with T shaped thing you pull up on for reverse.) Anyway, what are some good aftermarket replacements from B&M, Hurst, shortthrow etc.
Thanks,

Myself, I have been using the Hurst Competition Plus for over 30yrs and always been very happy. Hurst now makes many optional handles that you can bolt onto their shifter. Call Hurst and ask them to send you a catalog, 216-398-8300.
I don't know about Chevelles, but there are replica handles that look like original Corvette shifter handles that are made to bolt onto a Hurst shifter. And in the same time period, Corvettes used the same type T-handle shifter as Chevelles, just shorter. Does anyone know if this type of replica handle is being made for Chevelles?
