The places where I have rust on this car are somewhat strange.
The wheel arches are bad, the floors are nearly mint even in the smugglers box. :confused:

The parcel tray, which will not actually hold anything, is rusted under the rear window.
I really do not see it as serving any useful function, only as an obstacle to fitting a roll-bar.

Thinking of deleting it, any real reason to keep it?

That bit of sheetmetal strengthens the window area, removing it would not be recommended. If you do remove it, just weld in another shallow brace or replace fix it to factory standards and notch the holes out to run your bar through.

Availability of replacements?

Have not seen them in any catalogs that I can recall.

Less new metal available for the El Camino's than the regular cars. :(
