A couple years ago I damaged the heater core and was going to replace it, but never got around to it. Bypassed it and ran it just fine through the summer. So I've been thinking if I even really need one, but I have never done any road trips with the car, though I think it could be fun to do.

Has anyone removed the heater core system and regretted it? Does anyone really use the heater?

I am in a cold climate region, but my daytime drives have never really required the heater thus far.

I just took my heater core out of my '67 chevelle this weekend, its not a big job, I have my motor out though, if you have the motor in the hardest part would be to get the nut off behind the motor, I think you should change it, especially if your planning on driving it in the fall or spring when its cool out
