Hey Guys, I just bought a 18' trailer w/ dove tail. I was thinking of cutting the drivers side fender off the trailer and fab'ing up some brackets to make them easily removable. Does anyone have any pics of a setup that works good?
I will have to look for pics but when I built my trailer I welded pipes to the bottom ends of the fenders and then a smaller pipe that fit inside it to the frame and put a thru bolt. I held them on tight and were easy to remove. I will look for some pics
My fenders sat and were welded to the step plates. I ground the welds off, and the middle support bracket. I then welded some 1/4 inch rod on the fender ends, about a inch longer than the fender. Than drilled the step plates so the rods go into them and anchor. Then I bought a set off Jeep hood latches, and mounted them. and then on the center brace, drill a hole in it, and then on the trailer frame, drilled and taped it for a 1/4 inch stud, and then use a wing nut to hold it. Works great and easy to remove
