: I have three 1966 Chevelles-2 dr hdtp, El Camino, and 4 dr hdtp (NOT a post!). Heres my question-The 4 door has a factory remote drivers side mirror. The little pot metal ball (connects the mirror to the post via the long screw) broke off at the screw part. Any idea where to find either a replacement mirror or the ball piece and rubber gasket to fix the current mirror? Was this a common mirror? Thanks, Michelle

Those remote mirrors with the round head were used from 1964 - 1967 and are quite scarce. About 2 or 3 years ago I saw a new repro. It was about $100 Canadian (so $75 U.S. at the time). I have heard of kits to replace the guts, but I have not heard of just the long screw being available by itself.

At least the repros are available; I heard of a guy buying a whole car just to get the mirror for his '64.
