Hey at all interested in a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible in Germany.
Intro:
When I was looking for a classic car to buy my spouse was looking over my shoulder and put her finger on a Chevelle and said "This one is looking good" and if she make just such a commend, it is my command. So I bougt a 1972 Chevelle Convertible from a private seller in Berlin who just imported it from california.
I bought it as a "projekt with some small issues" but these issues are not that small as I called the car my nightmare.
First I wanted to make the wiring according the german requirements.
That was done after a while and with a change of the steering column a new shift console and complete new wiring with several relais and fuses I could fix this. Carpet is also new
When the wheels where off I saw the bushings of the control arms are not in good shape.
Thats what I do now and because the rear gear is not operating well I will refit my T350 Drivetrain and the seal at the differential to the drive shaft. It drops oil to much to tolerate.
I am now waiting for some new bolts to fix the control arms.
Thanks,
it is difficult. The most I need, I order by OPGI and Ecklers. The most wear parts, like brake pads are available in good old Deutschland. But to get a fender or something like this .
Paint job is US made and lets say not my demand of a nice paint job. But in that case I need to stripp the whole paint until the steel is visible and make a new structure of paint because of the complete differnt paint system. I will do it maybe in 2 years when I retire.
I took of the transmission and rebuild it.
There is a thread about it.
But what I found on you tube is very nice. It is is regarding the differncial and a leakage seal ring, wich can only be installed, in a correct manner, with a spacer. This is, what i made, on a lathe to prevent a leakage differencial with a new pinion ring.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could
be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
