What year Chevelle?
I own a 1970 with Red interior. The only thing Black is the steering wheel/Column,dash background, and console top outline.Used in all interiors regardless of color.Standard seat belts are black for a 70,but the Deluxe are Red.Click on my link below to view.

Ditto to everything Rick said. My 70 with red interior looks just like his except it has black seat belts. Also, the seat belt buckle holders, (on the side of the console), are black too. Mine didn't come with the deluxe seat belt option so that seems correct. I believe my interior to be all as originally produced.

Sorry guys it was a 1970, I forgot to post that little detail! Needless to say you answered all my questions. As usual instant and accurate answers! Gotta love this site!

OK guys I have a 1970 Chevelle SS LS5 a real red car very original, (including running gear), -buckskin interior.....hate the interior! After seeing several red on red cars I've decided that's the color. The previous posts really helped out a lot but just a couple of more questions. Looking at headliners, there is not a red one offered, a dark red, but no red? Any help here? Black maybe? Also, the coat hooks on the sides of the car I've only seen in black molded plastic, should they be red as well?

Thanks much,
Dave

Coat hooks should be red.Headliner is red.1969 red interior is actually a different shade of red.It was a darker red in 69.1970 was more orange compared to it.I got my headliner from USA-1 interiors in the 80's.They are no longer in the buisness. They were bought out by PUI.I don't know who else would carry the correct shade of 1970 red,but someone has to right?
