Looking over my motor this weekend and began looking around the engine bay and over the frame. Decided I want to pull the engine, re-wire and de-rust/paint engine bay and frame etc. Figured while its out I would have rebuild (as I know very little about whats actually in the motor)and is lacking power. Anyhow, looking for a good shop and if anyone has any suggestions for the modesto area or anywhere within 50 miles of I would apreciate it. Always looking for good machine shops etc and reputable performance shops. Keeping my original heads (they were ported and polished by a good machine shop awhile back), have new carb, new dist, manifold, stuart water pump. Really just want new pistons, rings, seals, crank checked, new cam, lifters, rockers, springs, etc. Any recommendations on cam specs would help out also as I havent made a choice yet. Anyhow, if any fellow TC'ers are in the area, do solid work and wants to make some cash (or knows someone that does) let me know. Jumping into a bigger restoration project than previously planned, but wanna do it right. Thanks for the help.

I have heard really good things about Dave's Engine and Machine in Newark. A buddy of mine had his engine rebuilt there and told me if I ever needed any work done to go there. The guy really knows his stuff. They also build engines for a couple of guys that run up at Altamont. Not sure about prices but he does quality work.

Victroy Machine in San Jose build the engine in my 64 and at least five others for the Nor-Cal Chevellecamino club, with good results.
If they can make Dennis's Camero happy they must be good.

Ill check them all out, thanks for the suggestions. San Jo and hayward may be farther than I originally planned but for good craftsmanship and quality I am willing to travel anywhere that I can haul the engine. Beats numerous headache filled trips to closer locations anyday.
