I cam across a 12bolt rear out of a 71 camaro. It's got aftermarket axles in it. Are they the same as the wider 68-72 chevelle rearends (what I've got in my '67)?

somewhere on here it is said that the 67-69 camaros had the same axles as the 64-67 chevelles

and the 70 and later camaros had the same axle as the 69 - 72 chevelle axles

Total widht 64-67 is 60" 68-72 61". Axle lenght is 64-67 29-9/16" 68-72 30-1/16".
Chevelle 64-67 has same widht as 67-69 camaro, chevelle 68-72 same as 70-72 camaro. So if your 67 has the stock rear they wont fit, but if it has a 68-72 rear the axles will fit.

You are the second one to inquire. I need to iron out the details with Troy before it gets discussed. I have no use for it since I don't have a 2nd gen camaro. BUT, the axle tubes have been welded to the center section and have a little twist to them. The camaro it came out of has been 9.60s at 130+, so it's had a rough life. If you are still interested, PM me and I'll let you know how the deal works out. If it falls through with me, I'll put you in contact with the current owner, he's in the St. Louis area.

It sounds like it needs a new set of axle tubes. Let me know what happens with Troy and I'll see what I can do with it. I wouldn't pay much for one in that condition, especially with shipping involved.
