I have a 66 Chevelle with a 12 bolt rear end. I did not take this car apart and starting to reassemble. Where is the proper location for the rubber isolators on the springs.? Large ones and the ones that look like a spiral rubber on the spring??? Do they require both?

My original 66 SS had only the spiral wrap at the top and nothing at the bottom. The bottom is held firmly by a cup style washer. You can add a small isulator at the bottom if you want, but it is not necessary.

The 66 uses the spiral on top and the 67 uses a disk type. Nothing on the bottom for either.
