Anybody use or know if the rear spring insulators are necessary. I ordered and installed a set from Goodmark. I checked the Chevelle service manual and they don't show them being installed, at least on the '64s.

Anybody using or have experience with the insulators and do they work?

I use them on my 64 and my 64 had them from start, I guess it may squeek without them? But I have had cars without them and never noticed any squeeks.

When I replaced my rear springs I did not replace the insulators and have had no strange noises or wear.

The insulators only go on the top. They must be there for a reason so I replaced mine when I had my car apart.
