Hi, what is the correct routing of the rear speaker wires into the trunk? There are many holes in the (passenger side) rear seat panel to pass thru the speaker wires. I want to be sure I use the right ones so they don't get pinched when I reinstall the rear seat. Thanks.

There should be a plastic or rubber sleeve held to the floor with bendable tabs, on the driver's side, that all the wires run inside of.

With the seats and carpet removed you should see it. If the original is gone you should see a 3 or 4 inch wide impression in the floor where it goes.

Thanks Don, I have that plastic sleeve running on the drivers side floor, with tabs and into the trunk, BUT the 70 factory manual shows the rear speaker wires (pair) running along the pass side? Plus it has no details about how and where they enter the trunk?

I'm doing a new stereo system. Tonight the interior seats and carpet were removed. Putting Damplifier Pro (like Dynamat) on the floorpans. There is a rear speaker lead on the passenger side that runs behind the HVAC down the firewall. I yanked out the remains. Somebody before me cut out the rear trunk harness, so I don't know the specific square or round hole it went to back there.

Also did the M&H intermediate harness tonight, too. It was a pain up by the fuse block. The original was within that long, flat plastic canal previously mentioned. Repro is wrapped. Pulled out the plastic canal since new harness would not fit anyway.
