I see what appear to be the connectors that come from the lights.. but cant seem to find the harness that goes to the charging system - can anyone give me any leds as to where this is???

There are 2 easy places to access these wires. First is the small panel ( 6x9) on the drivers side of the bed just in front of the tailgate. Second is behind the storage box which is behind the drivers seat. They also go under the carpet of the drivers compartment.

Argh! The body shop cut the wiring harness for the rear lighting system... oh boy... any suggestions??? Should I just buy a new harness, or should I get a book on the electricals (any books recommended?), or should I just go to an competent electrician? (Know of any? I am located in San Diego, CA.)

A good shop is going to charge you for what you can do yourself. They also will buy the harness and then mark up the price. These aren't that hard to replace.
Pick up the assembly and chassis manuals from the sponsor. Pick up an exact reproduction harness from M & H. www.wiringharness.com

OK John, thanks for the advice, I will just do it myself, as usual.
